. Responsible for the Histology help in necropsies to collect

tissue from different species (Rat,Primate,Rabbit,Dog), grossing

tissue, trimming tissue according to protocol,process tissue,

embedding tissue, microtomy, staining and QC slides for GLP and

non-GLP studies.

. Also help to stain ihc slides as needed. Also cut frozen section

as needed. Develops, validates, and performs new technologies

such as IHC, image analysis, and special procedures in support

of Discovery and Investigative projects assigned.

. Assists the histology laboratory manager in tracking

expenditures, preparation of budgets, and monitoring quality

control in a GLP environment. Performance of departmental qulity

control reviews on GLP and non-GLP studies and follows projects

from inception through completion. Responsible for complex

histopathology techniques, departmental SOP generation and

maintenance functions.

. Archiving, shipping and receiving of pathology specimens,

ordering and maintenance of histopathology supplies.

. Mentorship and training of junior staff, oversight and

maintenance of histology metrics. Perform or oversee

multispecies necropsies, including prosection, as assigned in

conformance with GLP and non-GLP study requirements and industry

standards.

. Maintains knowledge of current histopathologic techniques by

attending meetings, in service training, workshops, journals,

seminars and self-study.
