As Senior Process Engineer, lead the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) responsible for
s tandardizing and simplifying Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) during a successful t ransition
f rom Waterfall to Agile/Scrum.
● Scheduled, delivered, and recorded t raining and informational sessions for Product Owners, Scrum
M asters, Business Analysts, Developers, IT and SCM resources – US and remote (Bangalore,
I ndia)
● Created process and tutorial documents for the t ransition to Scrum – e.g. Definitions of Scrum
roles, terminology, and ‘ceremonies’ (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Retrospective, etc.)
● Emphasis was placed on keeping documentation as concise as possible – and referring often to the
relevant materials on MSDN and Scrum.org rather than re-creating such references
● Owner and administrator of single, centralized SharePoint site for all process artifacts. Also
defined the policy by which updated artifacts were reviewed and approved for publication to the
site (legacy internal sites with outdated process guidance were identified and shut down, to avoid
confusion)
● Acted as Scrum Master for process related efforts, holding daily stand-ups, reviewing Burndown
Charts, clearing impediments directly or by interaction with other groups
● In tegrated MS Project with TFS so that work by an overseas team still using Waterfall could be
i ntegrated into reporting and metrics
● Set up teams, i teration and area paths in TFS 2012/2013 to enable Scrum implementation
● Created a standard Release-PBI-Task template for Beta testing of all products – i.e. the Beta ALM
was ‘baked into’ the TFS structure
● Engaged with outside experts on scalability and CMM I compatibility of Scrum
● Created presentation materials, graphics, and short videos on Scrum related topics and on a
department-wide Quality Ini tiative (designated “Qi”) [see L inkedIn profile for examples]
● Created a ‘Vi r tual Hallway ’ (web-based 3D interactive) so that remote resources (US and India)
could view the same informational graphics being used in the Boca Raton office
● Gave informal t raining sessions in MS PowerPoint; formal and informal t raining sessions in Sparx
E nterprise Architect (EA), U M L, BPMN, and an introduction to Business Process Modeling for
resources in India
● The Agile/Scrum methodology was based on the work of Ken Schwaber and Scrum.org
