Apprenticeship Coordinator
Northern California Apprenticeship Commitee - Fairfeild Ca - January 1999 to September 2003
Responsibilities
As a coordinator I mentored, monititored, and discpline for 300 apprentices. Also due to a court order we
needed to recruit 15% females. I almost single handed acheived this number brought up from 2 % by searching
and expkaining the benefits of union work. Went to every county and help educate the opportunities involved.
Inducted and completed paperwork up to state standards. Job visits, counseling and hands on training on a
daily basis. Conducted JATC meetings, using Roberts Rules and advised on discipline. Dealt with 7 union
and many agents, once again a challenge as a female which was not a very accepted idea in those early days
Accomplishments
Managed to bring the female count to 15% from the high of 2% therrfore lifting the court orders to allow a
more open program . Acheived the trust of many people that to this day thank me for my help to be successful
apprentices. Worked without any back up from other coorfinators who did not want a female in their circle,
proving that I could get the enthusiasm and respect of apprentices and coworkers alike.

able to induct thise people single handed with little or no mistakes. Telephine skills because I called the
inductees at least once a week check ins. Progress checks on all apprentices, and working with employers
to acheive good matches for each company. Ability to work with some of the grumpiest and set in their ways
dinosaurs that were running this program for as long as it was in active training. Desseminated Safety Classes

Was successful in the lifting of a long standing court order that crippled the program
