University of Pennsylvania Health System Philadelphia, PA September 2007 – October 2012

Cross application Project and Resource Manager ~ SMS/IDX 2009 - 2012 Directed, organized and communicated with all levels of the executive and corporate community including managing and directing up to 10 simultaneous cross functional Health System wide project teams of up to 25 for three Hospitals and 2500+ Physicians, Clinical Practice Management (Epic EMR), as well as Academic Clinical Research Study practices. Successfully completed all assigned projects averaging 8-10 simultaneously and closing 20 annually. Developed and maintained department-wide reporting for Executive Management.

Identified a major defect in integrated provider management across three disparate hospitals for EPIC ambulatory practice implementation, and responded by implementing emergency resolution project. Successfully identified and implemented solution allowing Epic project team to meet Health System-wide implementation goal.

Drafted and finalized the Patient Flow design for the joint U of PA Health System and U of PA School of Medicine’s Research Billing Initiative; resulted in new revenue source for Health System across all major teaching and research specialties.

Designed initial ICD-10 implementation schedule for flagship hospital in concert with Medical Informatics teams allowing for resource allocation across three main hospitals.

Led cross-functional project team of 12 successfully implementing automated charging for cardiology professional fees from hospital charges, eliminating 2.5 data entry FTEs.

Managed sunset of legacy system (IDX) while the organization was implementing EPIC, without interruption of service.

Successfully directed multi-vendor project team automating of state-mandated Core Measures reporting. Negotiated with vendor to allow Multi-phase implementation enabling two hospitals to immediately qualify while we worked to implement the final solution.
