US Navy – August 2001 – August 2005

FIREMAN, USS LAKE CHAMPLAN (CG-57) – San Diego, CA 2002; Operation Enduring Freedom

Perform basic fireman apprenticeship functions in engineering areas aboard ship, involving cleanliness, operation, maintenance, and preservation of maim propulsion, auxiliary stream or diesel machinery, steam or diesel generators, various pumps, motors, an associated equipment. Which resulted in passing engineering inspections and evolutions underway.

Identify basic types and components of naval boilers, steam turbines, reduction gears, propellers and shafting, electric systems and internal combustion engines (and gas turbines); perform routine maintenance procedures. Which resulted in successful underway evolutions across the Pacific Ocean (Operation Enduring Freedom).

Apprentice training. Stood engineering watches; cleaned engineering spaces and equipment; made minor repairs to enginnering equipment; recorded readings of gauges; participated in general drills; and perfomed attention to detail duties. These tasks and duties was highly noted on my Navy evaluation and resulted in being granted an early promotion.

YEOMAN 3RD CLASS, USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG-57) – San Diego, CA 2004-2005

Performed general office, clerical and administrative duties, including computer applications, office communication, and filing and records maintenance for over 600 Navy personnel.

Maintained files for over 600 sailors; operates computer; operates calculating and copying machines; types correspondence, reports, and other communication from rough draft ( a straight-copy tying rate of at least 50 words per minute is required).

Implemented protocol to naval instructions, enlisted evaluations, commissioned officer fitness reports, and naval messages for the command. This resulted in receiving a Navy Achievemnet medal and also awarded an early promotion on his Navy evaluation.

YEOMAN 2ND CLASS, ACU-1 DET, NOSC TAMPA – MacDill AFB, FL 2010 – 2015

AT Coordinator for unit and responsible for all 45 members attached to assist with submitting requests and completing their annual training. These actions resulted in a 99% annual training completion percentage.

Point of contact for members mobilizing and responsible for 45 members applying for Official Passports. Which resulted in members who mobilize overseas have to complete their pre deployment checklist.

Draft, edit, and submit all Navy enlisted evaluations for all members attached to ACU-1 Det Tampa. Which completed all eval submittions for all elisted and officer rankings in the chain of command.

Qualified Coxswain and Crewman onboard all MPFUB crafts attached to ACU-1 Det Tampa and assisted in conducting training evolutions and passing annual inspections.

Assisted and served as a qualified crewman for the annual ISIC inspection which resulted in a 98% completion/passed rate.

Supervised and trained over 40 junior personnel to conduct their weekly Naval reserve duties and resulted in 20 promotions for junior personnel to their next paygrade.
