Biking Path Network Modeling based on Safety Levels and Quality Control(MTA)
Functions: This project aimed to establish biking paths with detailed information. It recommends biking
paths with different safety levels in LA County.
My Assignments: walkway path modeling, bike path modeling, bridge modeling and database
generation (direction, elevation, connection etc.), network analyst application (such service area, OD
matrix, find the closest facilities.) quality control and reporting.
LA Bicycling Demand Project(MTA)
Functions: This project aimed to estimate bicycling demand in LA. It suggested high-biking need areas
based on the density of resident workers, businesses, and retail stores in LA County. It will be a good
reference for further decision making in biking demand.
My Assignments: surface feature modeling; data processing and database generation; analyzing trend,
pattern, relationship based on spatial analyst ; 2D and 3D heat maps;
Metro Expresslane Transponder Detector Locations (I-10 and I-110)(MTA)
Functions: This project aimed to generate point -to-point distance matrix between metro expresslane
detectors along I-10 and I-110.
My Assignments: locating all the detectors along I-10 and I-110 in a map based on field survey and
satellite images; establishing and modeling freeway I-10 and I-110 network and executing OD matrix
analysis in order to make point -to-point distance calculations between detectors.
GIS Layer Relationship Database Establishment(MTA)
Functions: This project aimed to create a block-based database. It will unify all other information from
geographic divisions (such as MTA TAZ, SCAG TAZ, Sub-regions, SPZ, etc.) into this database by
using GIS technology.
My Assignments: study current boundary policies; database design, data processing and updating;
mapping; quality control and reporting.
TOD Planning Grant Program Reward in Los Angeles County(MTA)
Functions: This project provided the exact locations of stations with awarded TOD grant.
My Assignments: compile GIS database, design maps, and generate address locations on a map based
on Geocoding function in GIS.
Population Prediction Based on SCAG RTP Data(MTA)
Functions: This project predict ed the population, household, and employment data for the year of 2015
and 2050 based on SCAG RTP data (in 2008 and 2035).
My Assignments: Compiling, integrating data in excel database, and making statistic calculation based
on interpolation and extrapolation methodology.
3D Community Models of Fengxian District Shanghai and Information System(SAAS)
Functions: 3D community models help new residents and guests locate buildings in the community. It
also helps the residents better understand the surrounding information such as bus route, entertainment,
shopping, etc.

A Project on Utilization Levels of On-Street Parking Space in Old Pasadena
Function: This project examined the utilization levels of current on-street metered parking spaces in Old
Pasadena, and how they related to other public parking facilities and locations of business activities.
My Assignments: Field survey and data collection; Geometric walkway network establishment and
analysis (e.g. closest facility analysis a nd network service area); parking database design, creation and
