Senior VAS Analyst

PROFILE

Young professional in telecommunications with more than 6 years experience in the industry mainly in VAS. I'm a dynamic person with great interpersonal skills who knows how to ally autonomy and team work, analytical thinking and business / marketing needs. I'm a fast learner, fond of learning new technologies and keen on challenges. I show the ability to operate in complex work environments whether in fast track mode with tight schedule or not, in projects ranging from small to multisectoral with high visibility ones, all with a good stress management ability. I work on engineering deployment / architecture team but also in operations as a 3rd level support. I work and I’m a lead on several VAS platforms (SMSC / MMSC / MMS Transcoders / WAP Gateway / Diameter Gateway for VAS Billing / SIM-OTA). Currently I'm holding a position as Senior VAS Analyst in Services / Systems department in Vidéotron, an emerging telecoms carrier in Quebec. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Since May 2011: Senior VAS Analyst at Vidéotron S.E.N.C :

Operating several Acision VAS platforms: SMSCv5.x series (running on OpenVMS), MCO 3.x series (new Acision SMSC line of products), MMSC v3.x series, WAP Gateway (HSP v1.1), Diameter Gateway (GBG v2.x / SLC v2.x series), MMS Transcoders (Vantrix R9.x) and Gemalto platform: SIM-OTA for updating SIM cards over the air : planning upgrades (ranging from bug fixes, patches bundle deployment, minor upgrades to major upgrades)

Testing and validation of MOPs for VAS platforms in Lab environment and planning of their implementation in Prod environment with operations team.

Implementing new services in VAS platforms : new SMSC Large accounts (internal plateforms need to bind to SMSC, external services like registration for iMessage, SMS aggregators like Voxtel new MMS VASPs, new header enrichment needs for different services using HSP, new SIM-OTA triggered services on SIM activation, diameter traffic load-balancing using MSISDNs pools, new Radius clients configuration on HSP...

Participating in pre-LTE and pre-VoLTE launching VAS requirements definition, design and lead architecture and implementation: SMS over SGS, IP-SM-Gateway integration (based on Ericsson EMe product

Participating in GSMA NA for RCS group standardization and leading discussions with vendors on possible implementations both European (based on Simple IM) and North American (CPM based) profiles.

Working on RFPs for different VAS platforms: OCS, Visual Voicemail, Messaging platforms.

Architectural and operational planning for VAS platforms upgrades: animating workshops with Acision, Syniverse and Gemalto, whole project planning with vendor and internal PMs, technical lead / contact with the vendor.

Offering 3rd-level support and training several internal teams: handset team, operations team, roaming team...

KPIs tracking for SMSC, MMSC, MMS Transcoders, WAP GW & SIM-OTA, including recommendations for several parameters fine-tuning, follow ups for non-reached thresholds with operations team and vendor, suggesting new KPIs metrics, pro-active operations to prevent for-seen operational problems and architecture review in case of operational issues due to architectural choices in order to achieve above 99% of success rate and service availability,..

Reviewing VAS platforms capacity and licenses expansion needs based on marketing previsions and real on-platforms measurements.
