Work Experience
Astrophysicist Directed Researcher (Aug. 2013 - present)
Physics Department, University of Texas at San Antonio San Antonio, TX USA
Developed a code to clean astronomical images collected from a foreign telescope, thus a C++
SSH code was used to retrieve the data. Bash and C-shell scripts were created to analyze and
calibrate the data.
Gravitational Wave Astrophysicist Software Developer Intern (Summer 2013)
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Greenbelt, MD USA
Developed a matched filtering C code to create hybrid gravitational waveform models required to
perform precise parameter estimation and measure the efficiency of detection of gravitational
waves.
Gravitational Wave Astrophysicist Software Developer Intern (Summer 2012)
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Greenbelt, MD USA
Developed a Galaxy density distribution C code based on the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method.
Code consisted to read and analyze large data sets to construct different realizations of the
Galaxy. Due to the large data sets, a parallel computing script was required during the analysis.
Physics and Astronomy Researcher (Jan. 2009 - Dec. 2012)
Gravitational Wave and Astronomy Center at University of Texas at Brownsville
Developed a Matlab Fisher Matrix code to simulate gravitational wave parameters from a Laser
Interferometer Space Antenna. Also developed C++, C, fortran, and python codes, awk scripts and
gun-plot to sort, interpret, do statistical analysis, and plot the data.
