Primary Investigator
Study of Polymer Applications in Geotechnical Engineering
My Responsibilities:
As part of my PhD research topic, I defined a collaborative research project with Alchemy Polymers, LLC. The company is sponsoring my research and provides me a cost allowance for up to $3600 annually. This research incorporates extensive laboratory testing such as unconfined compressive strength, flexural fatigue test, and splitting tensile test as well as microstructure study of the polymer-soil interactions, economic and environmental aspects of polymer utilization for geotechnical purposes at large scales.
Nov. 2011 – Dec. 2012
Iranian National Standardization Organization, Tehran, Iran
As part of my compulsory military service (Instead of Working in the Army)
My Responsibilities:
Standards Planning and Documentation Expert – Civil and Mining Engineering (Construction, Materials, and Construction Products Engineering)
Official Proof-reader for the Iranian National Standardization Organization (Construction, Materials, and Construction Products Engineering)
Summary of Accomplishments:
Holding 23 planning committees in the Construction, Materials, and Construction Products Engineering field and issuing nearly 450 resolutions regarding National Iranian Standards in the fields of Construction, Materials, and Construction Products Engineering. These committees are a valuable effort of the authorities involved, and their numbers are continuously increasing.
