Project name: “DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF HAAR WAVELET BASED

COMPRESSION AND OBJECT DETECTION”

Duration: 1 Year

The object detection plays an important role in video processing applications. An efficient hardware

implementation is important to detect the object at high speed. Among all existing algorithms the

back ground subtraction algorithm is considered because of low computational complexity which is

the major parameter of time in VLSI. The concept of the background subtraction is to subtract the

current image with respect to the reference image and compare it with to the certain threshold values.

The area taken and the speed of the algorithm are also evaluated.
