Environmental Assessment of Rail and Facilities Projects
• Performed numerous Environmental Due Diligence Assessments in response to property and facility transactions within
the railway network.
• Understanding when less exhaustive and costly evaluation methods were appropriate; including Desktop Reviews, En-
vironmental Questionnaires, Records Searches with Risk Assessments, and Environmental Transaction Screens.
• Preparing preliminary assessments such as Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments.
• In cases where there was contamination or issues with the prospective property, appropriate communications of the
findings were made and strategies were identified to minimize the risk and/or liability.
• Performed quick turn arounds (meeting deadlines), exceptional quality in assessment efforts, and meaningful clarity in
written reports.
Developing training documents (Depot/Facility work-shops)
• Generated Environmental Planning Management training PowerPoint presentations and handouts; and Low-Risk Depot
checklists.
• Facilitated training presentations to internal employees (Project Managers) and contractors around the railway network
• Successfully trained teams employees and contractors to understand and perform their duties in an environmentally
sustainable way.
Project Management/Leadership (Station facility upgrades)
• Generate Preliminary Environmental Assessments on prospective project sites.
• Plan station upgrade with project management team including contractors.
• Generate Preliminary Environmental Management Plans for initials phase of projects; giving clear and decisive instruc-
tions to all necessary parties including contractors and management.
• Inspect construction sites on a bi-weekly basis or as needed to ensure appropriate environmental controls are being
implemented as instructed to minimize risk of environmental impact.
• Organize the storage and removal of any contaminated soils or materials; including instruction of contractors and in-
ternal employees onsite; and using an appropriate hazardous material removal company.
• Taking calls and responding/giving advice to environmental incidents as needed, investigating the severity of the im-
pact and implementing appropriate environmental controls and remediation.
• Successfully communicated with contractors, giving appropriate advice with any environmental issues onsite.
