Project#1: Benefit Profile Tool
The Project mainly focused on building an application for the sales and marketing team to generate BPT reports and also view the reports that were generated. The Benefit Profile is a tool that benchmarks relevant marketplace data, and helps paint a picture of facts and recommendations for clients industry. It was created to help brokers and clients understand what benefit packages are common in the industry, and helps to make recommendations that will best fit the client’s needs. BPT reports can be generated for single Census, Two Census and Industry level data (50+ Lives and Under 50 Lives) using BPT application.
Project#2: Customer Event Lake
The goal of the project is create an application that will enable Client Relationship Executives (CRE’s) and Client Advocates (CA’s) to have ready access to answer customer inquiries. Currently tracking down some answers is very cumbersome, and requires making multiple calls or sending emails to several different departments, which use different systems to house status, policy and customer information. The project employed 'Big Data' methodology to pull information across traditional databases, as well as log files, email repositories, other non-traditional sources and provide a single, consolidated location for business data – the “Data Lake” - which is sourced and refreshed at regular intervals.
Project#3: National Accounts Employer Reporting & Analytics
The purpose of the project is to build an application which will help users to generate the reports automatically. Reports are produced manually by the Underwriters, Claims and CRE teams which are very time consuming. Current SLF reports have data integrity concerns, and report formats are inflexible. Automating and generally improving the creation of customer reports will align SLF with industry standards. This will create analytic capabilities and enhance efficiency to support account management, underwriting, claims, and sales SLF prospective and in-force customers expect SLF to have certain reporting and analytic capabilities. These capabilities are compulsory for SLF to continue to remain competitive in the marketplace, and to continue to grow the National Accounts business.
Project#4: EOI Single-Sign On
The idea of this project is to create the ability to allow third party enrollment platforms connect with our current online Evidence of Insurability (EOI) submission process in order to make doing business with SLF easier for our clients and to capture more accurate member data at an earlier stage. This connection is dependent upon the successfully implementation of a secure single sign on (SSO) connection between our Customers’ enrollment platforms and our (SLF’s) Plan Members website (where online EOIs are submitted).
