Researcher, June 2014-October 2014
Conducted research on enzymatic de novo DNA Synthesis. Investigated an enzymatic alternative to chemical methods using Terminal deoxynucleotidyl Transferase (TdT). Review Nucleotide Modification to understand the chemistry behind DNA Synthesis. Enzymatic approach implemented to surpass traditional synthetic strategies in efficiency and yield. Tested the extent of hydrolysis of incorporated acetylated thymidine. Tested the effect of pH on acetylated thymidine incorporation.
Performed chemical transformation of competent E. coli cells. Developed cell cultures, and created a glycerol stock.
Raritan Pharmaceuticals
Quality Control Intern, May 2013-August 2013
Performed calibration, maintenance and routine sample analysis of the laboratory equipment such as pH meter, UV spectrophotometer, FTIR, Polarimeter, Dissolution unit, KF titration, HPLC, and GC. Physical & chemical testing and approval of raw material, in-process and finished products. Performed routine testing, releasing of raw materials, blend testing, in-process material, finished products and stability testing. Sample analysis by using HPLC, UV and IR Spectroscopy and documentation.
