Experience
Statistical software development Intern, Digital System, Inc 05/2014-12/2014
Loaded different data files and used SAS procedures like Proc SQL for data scrubbing and extracting in 7 large dataset per day. Coded with the use of SAS Base/Graph to test new software (SSER) and compared results generated by both software.
Provided a testing report containing data analysis, simple summary and recommendation, and then made a presentation to the supervisor each week about the project’s process.
Wrote a 75-page manual including graphs and simple descriptions in one month to help customer use new software.
Assisted the supervisor to finish 120-page final report about our project, including translating the statistical language and double-checking some explanations. Conducted an online research to prepare materials for bidding a project each month.
Research Intern, One Foundation Philanthropy Research Institute 04/2011-12/2011
Used Excel to collect and update over 1,000 information about child-welfare cases per day to support the institute’s research.
Posted important news on the official website each day to maintain the institute’s operation.
Translated foreign child-welfare journals each week to help co-workers be aware of the current affairs.
Communication Intern, China Youth Development Foundation 08/2011-09/2011
Documented hundreds of information of images and videos dated back 20 years independently.
Built a database of 20-year’s media resources with Excel for staffs to inquiry materials effectively.
Human Resource Intern, IM S Health Beijing US Statistical Department 09/2011-10/2011
Assisted in resume review, interviews arrangement and campus recruitment to improve the efficiency of hiring 60 statisticians.
Recruited interns for each department and managed 200 intern salaries, documentation and benefits.
Facilitated six important staff-training meetings each week for three managers.
Published a paper ‘Home Appliances Policy’ on ‘Productivity Research’ 10/2011
Used questionnaires to collect the information about people’s reflects on the new policy.
Conducted the factorial analysis by using Policy’s implementation model to obtain the principal elements on the problem found in the survey.
Projects
Regression Analysis of Mercury Contamination in Bass 01/2014-05/2014
Loaded data into SAS from the dataset including 53 observations and 6 variables given by my professor.
Performed basic data analysis using PROC MEAN, PROC UNIVARIATE, PROC FREQ to do the data validation.
Ran program to generate statistics of CookD, DFFITS, H, STU for observing the outliers and made some transformation of variables with PROC TRANSPOSE.
Wrote PRINCOMP to find out the principle components for the mercury contamination and used stepwise selection to keep the final component. Compared the values of statistical testing results (VIF CP AIC BIC) for
double-check.
Used the factors selected by previous steps to generate a log-linear model and made a report to explain these results.
Modeling and Operation Research on clinical virology Tests 09/2012-12/2012
Found out 9 decision variables using objective analysis.
Used linear programming, goal programming, queuing theory and forecasting model to set up a simple linear model with constraints.
Performed a scenario analysis with pros and cons of test combinations to make a recommendation.
