Operations Supervisor

My responsibilities as Operation Supervisor included supervising and supporting the maintenance and production departments and acting as the safety officer. I created work orders and printed labels and packing slips as needed in support of pack out. I wrote the safety manual, edited various obsolete procedures to reflect the current operations. I filled in for both production supervisors and primary maintenance personnel on Fridays, as they worked from Monday thru Thursday only. I performed preventive maintenance tasks weekly/monthly, and changed over manufacturing equipment to run different products. I performed repairs to machines and equipment to keep production moving. The production personnel spoke Spanish, and being bi-lingual, I was the primary interface between them and other support personnel, such as the Quality Department. This job ended after the first quarter of 2015.

Quality Manager

My responsibilities included managing the quality management system and implementing compliance to the AS9100, Revision C standard. I wrote quality manuals, procedures and work instructions, responded to, as well as issued nonconformance and corrective action reports. I reviewed purchase order contracts and quotations, and confirmed the accuracy and receipt of purchased hardware items for complex assembly projects, and reviewed customer prints for omissions and inaccuracies. I managed the calibration system, perform calibrations, and oversaw quality inspection personnel in the coordination of inspection requirements for large projects. Part of my duties also included rewriting the Employee Manual, making sure the company was in compliance with state, federal and local employment laws, and assuring the application of customer specific work standards throughout the organization. I also tracked and coordinated the internal and outside processing of components belonging to complex assemblies with critical delivery requirements. I left Backerworks to work for NanoCool, which offered increased earnings potential.
