The complete retraying (33) trays, of a Naptha Splitter. The building of a 72’ pentane sphere and the building of a complete ISAL Unit, including the setting of a debutenizer 150’ X 16’, 2 – reactors that weigh over 180 ton each. Made 3 constructability studies for Isla Refinery in Curacao, of an addition of a new ISAL Unit and an addition of a new reactor for Platformers. Construction Manager for Deep Water Well Tie-Back and platform up-grade. Acceptance of all QC works to various codes, for vessels, piping, electrical and instrumentation. This work included a 24’’ pipeline to the beach of 83 kilometers. The multiple tie-ins and setting of an new HP Separator, Hipps Skid and tie-back to the new wells (600ft. water depth). Spent a short time in EG Africa.

Superintendent on night shift for a refinery rebuild (Crude Unit) in Lemont, IL.

I was responsible of each of the 3 Mech./piping contractors to get started on the fire rebuild, including the start of installation of the 28 down comers on the crude column, 24’ X 153’. After getting these contractors started, I was in charge of 2 of these contractors for most of the time. This was a major fire rebuild with over 5000 spools that were installed. This was done in less than 6 months. My contractors had the best safety audit averages, because I motivated them to have safety awareness and good housekeeping.

For the Onshore Part, I coordinated with the Contractor to make sure that over 2,000 Large Bore (8"-36") Heavy Wall (.500-1.875) Pipe Spools were fabbed, X-rayed, Stress relieved, Sand Blasted, painted and then shipped Offshore for a 9 platform turn-a-round and upgrade from ANSI 150# systems to ANSI 300# systems. Offshore I was the turn-a-round and start-up Superintendent for a Platform Complex (3 Platforms). This was a 30-day shut down. The platforms were completed and started up in 21 days.

Responsible to STAATSOLIE to order all the major equipment, review and order all the major materials, make a detailed time schedule as to material & pipe placement, labor and equipment locations and time allotments for the countries first major pipeline - 14" .250 wall X-60 pipe-55 kilometers long. This included 17 road crossings, 2 river & 4 canal crossings, 3 road bores, 1 push/pull area of 8 kilometers and app. 4-5 kilometers of Terrain that was underwater. I was also in charge of building 2 pump stations and one receiver station, (Tie in to existing facilities) 3 areas. My responsibilities included, leveling 4 pumps, and all the piping and hot Tie-ins, setting and piping up the pig launcher and pig receiver, all the instrumentation, monitor the training of 35 welders to API 1104 and 4 welders to B.31.3. Also, testing of the total pipeline to 1800 PSIG and all the pump stations, launcher and receiver to 1800 PSIG. I set-up the QA/QC procedures for his complete project. Taught the people how to operate 571's and 572's side booms. In charge of start up. The job was completed without a loss time accident.

Shop inspector for the fabrication of two 2600 HP offshore single module gas compressor packages. The installation, hook-up and start-up of one of these units. The installation of four 1000HP gas compressors, the complete compressor station to include the DeHy unit and all associated equipment. Plant start-up. Installation, hook-up and commissioning of a Westinghouse 501 Combined Cycle Unit, for thermo reinjection, in California.

These jobs were simultaneously in the Llanos area in Columbia, South America, monitoring and trouble shooting fabrication of ASME rated heaters and pressure vessels for our project. Then went to the area of construction, ordered out tools and took charge of the piping, welding and rigging and the tank erection crews.
