Accomplishments:
Was hired by Barbara Hennesey at Methodist to create a new position within the Anesthesia Pre-Evaluation Clinic to take patient chart work load from Nurses in the department and work with Anesthesia to get patients cleared for surgery.
Duties included:
Receiving patient pre-evaluation charts prior to surgery and gathering all pertinent information (ordered test results, clearances, setting up patient clearances with specialists, etc.).
Presenting patient surgical charts to Anesthesia staff for clearance.
Communicating with surgeon's office on any testing abnormalities, faxing test results done at Methodist to surgeon as well as patient specialist.
Did some consulting work with Woodlands Memorial Hermann Hospital's Pre-Operative department to help set up their Pre-operative clinic.
Within 4 years we were given the budget to hire 2 C.R.N.A’s and an Anesthesiologist to work alongside me in the position.
