Objective

I am a college graduate from the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Washington DC. I have a passion for film and a degree in film studies. I would like the opportunity to learn and grow within the art field.

Casa Madrona Hotel and Spa Dec. 2014- Present Sausalito, CA

Front Desk Manager – I am a team leader. I am responsible to oversee many people in both a front desk and valet position. My job is to offer support and assist wherever my team needs me. I work with many different difficult customer situations and it is my responsibility to turn a negative experience into a positive outcome. When I am not working on the front lines, I manage the behind the scenes work. I create the weekly schedule, payroll, guest recovery, planning management meetings and creating policies/ Procedures. I offer my support to other departments as well. During wedding parties and events I help organize and set up the spaces, give tours of the property, and AV assistance.

Firestone’s Culinary Tavern Oct. 2013- Oct. 2014 Frederick MD

Host / Front house manager & cocktail server I work well under pressure. In all of my roles, communication is my main job. I work with new people every day and express myself in a professional and helpful manner. As a host manager I oversee all of the front desk hosts. I ensure that they are following rotation, seating and greeting guests to our standard, creating the weekly schedule and offering support. I was the connection between the front of house employees and upper management. I am able to guide my guests by listening to their needs, and matching them with the perfect combination of food and drink. I make sure that the guests are the top priority. As a cocktail server it is all about memory and making sure that I greet everyone that comes into the restaurant whether they are just having drinks before dinner or dining in my section. At Firestone’s we work as a team and being able to ask for help is an important part.

Range Restaurant Oct. 2012- Jun. 2013 Washington DC

Host Manager As part of the start-up team for this new restaurant from celebrity chef Brian Voltaggio, I was instrumental in establishing restaurant flow. I was the first one in every morning, setting up the seating arrangements and confirming the day’s reservations. My job was to ensure that the restaurant was fully utilized, and that we were accommodating large parties as well as walk-ins. I worked closely with the event planner to help coordinate large groups and make special events go smoothly. I rallied the host team, kept them up to speed on everything that was happening in the dining room, and ensured that we were giving our guests the best introduction to the restaurant. My duties included pacing table assignments for good flow in the restaurant, and working with Open Table.

Olive Garden Dec. 2008- Jun. 2010 Frederick MD

Host My focus was customer service. My duties included answering phones, guiding guests to their tables, answer questions, manually calculating and tracking timing for waits before a computer system was available for this function. I monitored the tables in the restaurant to ensure that the list/ time was correct, and assisted with pacing of tables which enhanced the customer experience. My role was to ensure that the people waiting were happy with good and frequent communication.

Corcoran College of Art and Design Aug. 2010-Jan. 2013

Admissions Assistant – giving tours to perspective students, answering questions about the school and the museum. Organizing events, answering phones, filing and copying documents. Research assistant as well.

Lab technician photo dept.- handling photography equipment, helping students in the darkroom, mixing chemicals, checking out equipment, and monitoring the darkroom.

Resident Assistant- summer 2012 - I worked with the summer program. I made sure students made it to class, weekend outings, and overnight monitor.

Delaplaine Visual Arts Center 2009, 2013

Greeted visitors and provided information and directions regarding exhibits and events at the facility. Created seasonal and themed window displays. Assisted with the installation of exhibits. In 2013, I created an exhibit from start to finish. My role included publicizing the exhibit, organizing the artists, selection and intake of the work, installation and organization of the show. Public promotion of the exhibit included making flyers and news releases. Post-exhibit work included take down and coordination of returning the work to the artists.

Art Camp Alameda CA Oct. 2014 – Feb. 2015

Assistant/ Art instructor I worked with kids ranging from 4 to 12 years old, learning how to draw and sculpt. It was my job to help the creativity flow and also provide support to the teacher. I would organize the kids and help assemble the projects. I also worked on creating video content for the program and created some performance videos with the students.
