Production Engineer " Body weld
Responsible for preparation of production equipment, tooling, and parts for new v ehicle model
launches for the body weld div ision.
Body Accuracy Engineer July 2006-Oct 2008, April 2010-Present
Project Leader for the body accuracy group for the next Toy ota Camry for North American production
facilities. Responsible for ov erall process and part quality . Report to management project status for
ov erseas and North American activ ities. Support engineers with day to day activ ities.
Planned, coordinated, and executed pre-production trial part builds with pilot production, plant
maintenance, and Toy ota technicians to find and resolv e problems with the production process in the
preproduction phase. Performed root cause analy sis to determine countermeasures to problems.
Ensured production process and part capability would produce a high quality v ehicle. Collected and
analy zed data to v alidate process.
Confirmed sub assembly accuracy for the 2009 Venza on a flexible shellbody line, which was new
technology to North America. Integrated current production model into new flexible line.
Simultaneous Engineer July 2009-April 2010
Designed and created v irtual factory for new robot welding processes and tooling concepts to create
machine specifications for new equipment. Determined the requirements of the process based on
design, targeted cy cle time, plant lay out, and cost. Ensured productiv ity and safety of the team
members who will be operating the machine during production.
Integrated new model into the existing production line to create machine specifications for equipment
and tooling modifications. Verified that changes made by the mass production group will not affect
the new models integration into the current production line. Minimized modification to the existing
tooling to reduce the risk of impacting current production.
Coordinated with the plant pilot production team to ensure the new equipment will fit within the
current plant footprint. Redesigned process when required to correct for equipment lay out problems.
Performed cost analy sis using Toy ota standard cost tables to create budget for new equipment and
equipment modifications.
Reduced required manpower by four team members from current model process and reduced team
member burden by adding automation to process that normally is not automated.
Utilized reused assets to reduce capital costs for new production equipment.
Process Engineer January 2008-June 2009
Lead design rev iews of new equipment and tooling with plant side pilot production team, Toy ota
technicians, and equipment v endor. Negotiated equipment design problem countermeasures with
Toy ota groups and equipment v endor.
Managed machine v endor and Toy ota cross functional groups at machine v endor to ensure equipment
was procured on schedule and to specification. Troubleshot problems with equipment and tooling that
arose during the construction of the equipment. Held inspection buy off and ensured closure to all
issues before equipment shipped to Toy ota facility . Coordinated and lead trials at the machine v endor
with v arious Toy ota groups to complete their activ ities to ensure process capability .

Lead machine inspections and process trials to confirm function of equipment at Toy ota facility before

equipment. Confirmed modification had no impact to current production quality and running
condition.
Using my shellbody experience, helped engineers and machine v endor recov er from sev ere schedule
delay s for 2009 Lexus Rx shellbody equipment.
Procured door equipment for 2010 Sienna under budget and met installation deadline for
preproduction trials. Had to balance workload and schedule for machine v endor capacity due to
simultaneous project equipment procurement.
