Develop and evaluate new adhesive resins for composite wood structures. The new resins are more suitable, environmentally, than the urea/formaldehyde resin currently used in the industry.
Assist in creating innovative processes in the lab to mimic the manufacturing procedures used in the industry.
Test varied wood composite materials as required by the industry.
2004-2007 Scientist (AFC) Digital Imaging Technical Service
Perform comparative analysis of competitive ink jet dispersions to the Rohm and Haas product line. Develop and suggest starting point ink formulations or formulation adaptations that would maximize the performance of the Acryjet products within a customer’s catalogue of products.
Assist customers in trouble shooting their existing ink formulations and provide appropriate adjustments to the formulations.
Provide analytical and laboratory support to customers using or developing formulations around the Acryjet product line.
1998-2004 Scientist (AFC) Digital Imaging Research
Part of a project team developing inkjet ink formulations and additives for ink jet inks that will improve the resistance properties of ink jet printed materials. Primary responsibilities included: experimental design, developing and modifying ink jet ink formulations to facilitate use of our additives in a variety of ink jet test situations, understanding the functions and interactions of the various ink components and developing test methods for evaluating the performance of the inks. Also responsible for collecting and evaluating data and reporting results.
Responsible for maintaining records and documentation on the program progress and milestones
1996-1998 Scientist (Corporate Exploratory Research) - Flat Panel Display Program
Part of a project team developing stress free optical plastic sheet for use in flat panel displays. Primary responsibilities included developing and improving techniques for measuring gel content within the process raw materials and the finished sheet. This included daily data collection and evaluation for process feed back reports. Result was a stress free optical quality sheet as required by customers.
Independently worked on the development of coatings formulations and application techniques (in a clean room environment) for an acrylic resin substrate candidate.
Helped develop twin screw reactive extrusion process for the production of imidized acrylic resin. This included extruder operation and maintenance, SOP preparation, analytical support, engineering, data processing and raw materials handling for the program.
