Primary design contributor to software (C/C++ embedded and Windows C++ client) and embedded

hardware architecture. Responsible for all certification testing for UL, CE and creator of ISO9000

quality system. Company subsequently purchased by the Lord Corporation and moved to North

Carolina.

Interactive Systems/3M (RF modem mfg.), Ann Arbor, MI March 1976 to Jan 1986

Member of management troika that guided and directed this 20 million dollar business unit before it

was profitably sold to Allen Bradley. Responsible for all technical affairs of the company, including

management of a $3 million R&D budget and 50 technical personnel.

Responsible for technical evaluation of new company acquisitions. Reviewed fiber optic and

baseband LAN companies for acquisition and became part of technical transition team.

Developed telecommunications equipment for broadband cable networks. Hardware and software

design for IEEE 802 RF packet switch systems. Designed RF transceivers for low speed (100 Kbps)

and high speed (2.5 Mbps) 30 through 500 MHz operation. Represented 3M as member of IEEE 802

committee for broadband and baseband standards. Designed microprocessor based packet switch

LAN devices to connect to broadband system. Software development used embedded C with 6809

processor.

RF Engineer

Motorola, Communications Division, Schaumburg, IL April 1974 to March 1976

Designed miniature RF voice/data communication devices for government security agencies.

Developed proprietary techniques to contain RF die into thick-film modules that would withstand the

rigors of violent deployment.
