M icrosoft MSSALES is the BI centre of excellence handling one of the Microsoft

M ission Critical Financial Applications and reporting tools.

MSSales Production Support Team

MSSALES is most important services line of AIT BI supporting some of the most

C ritical Financial Applications MS Reports, MS Report Analytics and maintains over 30

p roductions and pre-production high availability (HA) of 24x7 servers.

Being a part of this team one gets an ample opportunity to work and learn the

technologies like SSMS, SSAS.

2) Project Name

Client : Otis Elevators

This application designed and developed on elogistics application which is a supplier chain

management sort of application which covers OTIS elevator sales process.

Elogistics is award winning global level application. Divided into three main modules:

JDE:

OTIS has implemented an ERP solution using JD Edwards OneWorld application

software and running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server and SQL Server 2000

E nterprise Edition. The JDE application provides Enterprise Resource Planning

support for financial and manufacturing systems.

J DE DB routine jobs briefing:

• Regular DB: Sizing report, Security report

• Daily backup log, daily error log checking, performance report checking

• Routine data refresh, DB refresh, task view refresh

• M aintenance jobs, dbcc checkDB, update stats., rebuild \ reorg index,

• Job scheduling, checking, alerting

Roles & Responsibilities:

Tactical execution of IT I L process on a daily basis, including escalations:

• Regular job maintenance (Batch job/SQL job)

• Managing performance of the IT I L process (per SLAs, metrics, KPIs) within the

i mmediate sphere of control

• Assist with detection of possible Problems and the assignment of them to the

P roblem Management team for them to raise problem records.

• Tracking open incidents and service request records.

• Switching nodes in a failover cluster.

• Providing workaround or Resolving of SQL Issues and SQL Job failures

• Maintaining the application Servers, Databases, Server Logins, Database issues.

• Checking the log utilization for databases and space available for database files

• Performing database backups and restorations

• Configuring and monitoring the Mi r roring

• Proving support for deployments and releases.

• Checking the Failover Cluster Management, Network Load Balancer and I IS

• Rebooting the servers and restarting services as a part of patch installations

• Identifying and reporting the H igh priori ty and Major Incidents to L3 / SME

• Routing incidents to concerned Levels and Teams.

• Detection and notification of possible issues.

• Performing activities to resolve incidents and service requests, or escalating to

escalation management

• Resolving incidents as allowed by the domain knowledge or security access.

• Creating jobs, rebooting the servers, Log shipping, D MV's/DBCC commands

1. I have setup the HADR(Alwayson) on Eservice Production and staging taylor

p roject for database servers in Microsoft Azure.

2. Got Hand-on experience on working with M icrosoft Azure starting from creating

t he VM,configuring the AD(Active directory), creating the domains,DNS, vir tual

networks, Affinity Mask, creating endpoints and joining the servers into the

same domain.

3. Implemented the new features in Elog, AMC for deadlocks in SQL 2012 like

extended events and Event notification.

4. Administering Cluster using the PowerShell script like checking the nodes,

resource and event log for cluster nodes.

5. Successfully migrated the Eservice SQL server 2012 to Cloud (Azure) and tuned

database for better performance.
