Objective: A position that allows for the opportunity of implementing my knowledge and passion for Mechatronic engineering.
Education: BS in Mechatronic Engineering, 2013 from California State University, Chico.
Work Experience:
-Sept 16th 2013:
• Emerald Farms Technology Support Manager, Maxwell, CA. (December->August)
Duties: Maintenance of the solar cellular weather and irrigation monitoring stations, IP security camera/DVR installation, calibration, and
maintenance. Installation of wireless and wired networks, Custom Thermoelectric Cooler Design and installation, Installation of a RFID
fuel tracking system. Research and integrate new software and programs to enhance automation of agriculture and asset management such
as Manager Plus for Maintenance Efficiency.
• Emerald Farms Walnut Huller Supervisor, Maxwell, CA. (September->November)
Duties: Managed operation and maintenance of multi-million dollar automated machinery to enhance production processes. Manage a staff
of 10 mechanics and sorters to ensure that the state-of-the- art processor experienced minimal downtime and maintained efficient
production. Interpreted complex system and component failures and implemented repairs and improvements to prevent future down time.
Worked within a system including complex logistics to enable multi-step processing and product distribution.
-Summer 2009:
• NASA Ames Robo-Academy Intern, Mountain View, CA.
Duties: Researching and testing components, preforming power tests, and drafting important wiring schematics for the Lunar Micro-Rover
Project.
Educational Focus:
Motion and Machine Automation Real-Time Embedded Systems Control System Design
Assembly Language/C Programming Materials Science CAD Modeling
Digital Systems Design Dynamics Circuits and Electronics
School Projects:
• SENIOR PROJECT: Created automated solar panel cleaning system for Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
Designed and implemented a system that monitors environmental conditions and controls cleaning autonomously or with
user input.
• Embedded Real Time Operating System : Programmed a real time operating system to register asynchronous sensor
inputs, and pass messages while meeting hard deadlines and using a pre-emptive kernel. Used an ARM M3 processor,
and MicroC/OS-III and IAR tool set for debugging.
• Machine Automation: Built series of theoretical automation control projects with stepper motors, servo motors, and
controller/amplifier hardware, utilizing a PID feedback system for precise control.
• Control Design: Implemented a light tracker capable of following a light source in real time for up to 160 degrees of
rotation using an Arduino microcontroller programmed in C++.
• Microprocessor Design: Designed, assembled, tested, and programmed a microprocessor. Complete with: Motorola
68K processor, PLC, A/D & D/A, transceivers, latches, dip switches, and light emitting diodes.
• Machine Intro: Created an Automated Bottle Crusher; designed and built a device capable of crushing water bottles, fed
into a hopper. This project included a user interface/ PLC, through beam sensors, and half dozen pneumatic actuators, as well
as some custom equipment, designed in Solidworks.
Skills and Tools: Embedded Design, Solidworks, Logicworks, IAR Workbench, Pspice, Easy 68K, Assembly Language, C/C+
+, HMI, MATLAB, LabView, ARM M3 development, MicroC/OS-III Hard deadline RTOS programming, Linear & non-linear
circuits, oscilloscope & DMM experience, soldering, debugging tools, Microsoft project/outlook/excel/word.
