. Lead build and try-out of new and reworked progressive, draw and line

dies.

. Other responsibilities included attending design review and kick-off

meetings. Following material ordering, including purchased details,

delegating and performing work in the tool room on details and in-

house machining, lining up outside vendors. Active in assembly,

fitting, try-out, and buy-off.

. Although in this union environment I was not required to do any hands-

on alterations. When breakage occurred while production was running I

. During these uncertain times in the automotive industry, I was laid-

off multiple times due to lack of work, and returned to college to

pursue a degree in business management.

Project Engineer / Die Follow-up

Lamb Technicon-Body and Assembly / 1997-2003

. Focus on Hemmers, Metal forming equipment.

. Lead build of tooling projects for Chrysler, Ford, and other

customers.

. Performed follow-up duties w/ travel as liaison for company to

vendors and customers.

. Hands on mechanical alterations, try-out, and design changes as

needed.

. Other responsibilities required working in a project team and

answering directly to the program managers. I was to follow-up at

build sources weekly and report on progress, in many cases staying to

oversee, assist, and perform required work as per the project

schedule. Attended design reviews, implemented engineering changes

into the system, kept open issues matrix, reported timing and tooling

issues to the managers and team, and followed program project through

early part, try-out, and into plant installation. Managed and built

multiple projects when team was overloaded.

focus on progressive dies.

. Oversaw all repair, rework, and engineering changes with crew varying

from 2 to 8 persons.

. Delegated work orders in press room, tool room, and boring mill

. Responsible for quality control, die design follow-up, buy-offs and

Customer Service.

. This was our family business and I (being the oldest) performed many

managerial tasks at a young age, and even performed debtor in

possession role when it went through chapter 11 reorganization

proceedings in 1993-1996.
