CSX Transportation, (Jacksonville, Florida) July 2013

QA Analyst
Currently, CSX does not have a system in place to alert the trainmaster when a local train stops. They
have requested an application to send alert messages when a train stops and then starts again.
The goal of this project is to automatically notify a subscriber (ex: trainmaster) when a local train stops
for a predetermined amount of time between an origination yard and a customer site and to automatically
notify the trainmaster when the train moves again. This monitoring system will be GPS based. It will be
flexible enough to allow a user to subscribe to the notification service and select parameters to filter trains
to those of specific interest. This project will utilize current and new CSX systems and technologies with
the primary data source being our existing Locomotive GPS systems. The Stop/Start processor will use
the existing CSX GIS determination of stopped trains, and the CSX GIS determination of when stopped
trains start moving again. This GIS functionality is in place for Trimble, GE Pinpoint, and GE ATS
equipped locomotives.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzing System requirements and preparing test scenarios.
• Preparing System Test plan for Both System testing and User Acceptance testing.
• Performed Functional Testing, User Acceptance Testing and regression testing activities in Test
