The Foundation is a 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization whose mission is to find a cure for
type (1) diabetes and its complications. The Foundation consists of 11 Regions with over 100
field locations. The Foundation raises over $200 million per year in contributions from the
public and spends over $100 million per year in research commitments. The Foundation also
has International Affiliates in Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and other countries.
• Directly responsible for all financial, legal, purchasing and facilities operations of the
Foundation. Have seven direct reports and oversee a total staff of 25 employees.
Responsible for all financial related reporting and presentations to the International
Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee and
Investment Committee.
• Spearheaded extremely successful centralization of financial processes at the
Foundation. Centralization was a strategic solution which enabled over 100 Chapters
to focus their attention on fundraising activities as opposed to administrative duties.
Centralization also tremendously enhanced internal controls by eliminating check
disbursement capabilities from over 100 field locations.

• Collaborated on strategic planning efforts regarding multi-year fundraising
campaigns with Development. These campaigns resulted in Total Public Support
growing from $108 million in 2000 to $224 million in 2008. While significantly
growing Total Public Support also managed the Foundation’s cost structure in order
to ensure an efficiency percentage of over 80% each and every year toward mission
as well as ensuring top ratings from all the major Charity Watchdog groups. This
includes being named a Top Charity by the American Institute of Philanthropy and
BBB Wise.
• Collaborated with Research staff on implementing new Research Management
System “Smart Simple”. The new system greatly enhanced the Foundation’s
reporting capabilities regarding our Research priority areas. JDRF has over 450
active grants and spends over $100 million on both academic and Industry research
grants.
• Act as staff liaison with the JDRF Investment Committee, the current investment
portfolio is approximately $130 million. The asset allocation is well diversified
including investments in Hedge Funds.
IPC/IXNET, New York, NY- Consultant (November 1999- October 2000)
• IPC/IXNET is a public company providing technology & telecommunication services
to the financial trading community. The scope of the engagement included
responsibility for systems integration and conversion of HR Vantage system (HRIS
system) to SAP.

• Created measurable value through revenue enhancement and expense reductions.
Directed daily financial, administrative and benefits/compensation activities for the
Exchange and its business segments which included equities, currencies and
agricultural businesses. Conducted due diligence from start to finish relating to the
acquisitions of the New York Futures Exchange and Commodity Clearing
Corporation, acquisitions added over $4 million per year in pre-tax profits.
Negotiated market data fees contract resulting in additional revenue of $1.2 million
annually.
