Project
American Express Customer services group (CSG) and Establishment support
Group (ESG) have been providing various services to customers and service
establishments all over the world –Generating various kinds of Fees, monthly
statementing, ensuring the payments for service establishments and service
delivery to Amex business partners, to name a few. American Express has
developed a number of mainframe-based applications, to cater their charge card
business. These applications cater to the Latin America and Caribbean (LA/C)
regions. The ISD team will be responsible for developing the various systems
and ensuring that they are available to the business by implementing
requirements. The applications covered as a part of ISD are various applications
serving Latin American Countries like Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. This
project is executed both from Onsite, Florida, USA and Offshore, Bangalore
and Kochi, INDIA. TCS is working on solution delivery related tasks for
AMEX for many years now and has acquired specific Business/System
knowledge and Technical skills that would enable TCS to provide Value added
services to client. In providing quality service to AMEX, this project makes use
of the following proprietary tools developed by TCS:
JCLSYNC tool – This tool is used for faster development process.
JCLSYNC compares the Test jobs with Production jobs. This will identify the
changes made to JCL and will be helpful to analyse the changes before the code
is finalised. This tool is highly effective and saves a lot of time for solving the
production-related issues.
Automated Standard Analyser tool- This tool developed by TCS ensures that
the coding is done according to the defined standards. ASA will be used for
checking the standards of COBOL program. The tool indicates location and the
details where the program does not confirm to the defined standard. This will
help the developer to carry out corrections thereby reducing the software
development cycle time.
Carried out the following activities:
• Provide production support for all the applications covered under
the Project Plan by resolving the Incidents within the Service
Level Agreements specified, thus ensuring system availability.
• Attending calls with Users and Other groups within / Outside
American Express whenever required.
• Involve in all the phases of software development life cycle from
the PDP sessions till rollout of the projects to production while
doing any enhancements
• Onsite – Offshore Co-ordination and Status calls. Task
assignment, monitoring and quality reviews for team members
• Using the CHANGEMAN tool to compile the changes in the
software. Review changes made to the existing components.
Using Change management record (CMR) Checker tool, ensure
no rejections of change records.
• Develop tools for monitoring the mainframe jobs of the each
region/environment at regular intervals and validate application
batch process completed in with in threshold time.
