Hi

Jun,

Good to hear from

you thanks for your querries am glad to know your best

interest. G5 is not for new crane drivers only neither

for

beginners for G5 is equivalent to stage 2 of sparrows

and

the Enermech. To clarify your doubts when you have

undertaken G5 with 5 days class room theory with

practical

assessment through simulator you have already completed

your

theoretical base study which is stated in your

certificate,

hence you are required to comply with the on board

crane

operation of 150 Hours and accomplished logbook the

other

requirements such as VHF certificate Opito approved and

Riggers Certificate Opito approved.

After completing your 150

hours you are then qualified for an assessment to be

fully

licensed as G5 crane ops, on that case after completion

of

the said requirement and passing the on site offshore

assessment you are fully certified and that is for

three

years with your license.

And therefore it is now an

equivalent to Stage 3 Sparrows, as you well notice it is

not

what you mean about being an Opito approved ok for G5

and

G20 is having its own standard which is the NORSOK

Standard

R003, if you noticed now a days it is an in demand

most

specially for the North Sea Sector and sub sea

operations.

Hoping that I have answered

you well on your doubts and questions as well as giving

you

more precise explanation regarding G5 course.

Please do drop me message if

anything comes into your mind, keep in touch.

Thank you. God

bless.

Guilbert

A or stage 3 issued 3 yrs ago and not been reassess. im

trying to be reassess soon or later once im off. thats

why

im trying to clarify first what is G5 really is... how

much?

how days? or is this a opito approved?

Anyway

sir, hope you still got a chance to reply ..God

Hi Jun,

G5 is equivalent to stage 2 of

sparrows and enermech that you are allowed to do deck

to

deck lifting unsupervised even on platform

installations

onboard vessels, hence you are not allowed to do any

lift

outboard or ship to ship therefore if you do so you must

be

supervised by a crane op duly certified. That is the

enclosed capacity of G5.

Hi Jun,

How are you by this time thanks for

dropping me a message, I am no longer connected with

NTCM

but still I am working as a guest instructor if ever I

may

be on vacation. G5 actually is the equivalent of Stage 2

of

the sparrows and Enermech for you have just completed

your

theoretical training but as soon as you have completed

the

requirements such as completion of 150 hours and so you

are

already entitled for an assessment offshore on site then

to

level up in category with the Stage 3 of Sparrows, and

the

license is issued and that is for 3 years validity by

KOSAR,

Norway.

Yes I surely consider it as

a category of Stage 3 of sparrows and Enermech as soon

as

you have the assessment.

Our G5 course we are doing is

the letter A of the attachment.

Letter B – the

participant completing the course has to be teached by

a

MENTOR on board

installations.

Letter C –

minimum number of hours to be completed while

being teached by a mentor on

board.

The competency certificate as

crane operator of the course participant will only be

given

after Letters A, B and C has been done and ASSESSED by

a certified Assessor on board

installation.

Attached

herewith is the outline Jun.

God bless you always.
