Projects undertaken in Undergraduate course:
Major Project on “Design, Fabrication and Performance Analysis of Single sided Linear
Induction Motor (LIM)”.
Description: The aim of the project is to design and fabricate a machine which is simple in
construction and provide thrust force directly on the secondary attached along the periphery of the
turbine blades. This is done by using an arc shaped stator. These LIMs produce force directly on
the secondary aluminum sheet which acts rotor.
The equivalent circuit parameters of the LIM and its performance characteristics were
determined. Full speed characteristics and its performance at frequencies other than the usual 50
Hz supply (using a variable speed motor generator set) were determined.
Mini Project on “Isolated word recognition using Discrete Hidden Markov model”.
Description: The aim of the project is to implement an isolated word recognition engine using
Discrete Hidden Markov Model. Such an engine can be used for command and control
application.
The speech engine was successfully built on a personal computer using MATLAB so as
to generate the word models by using training data stored in the computer. The engine had a small
vocabulary of ten words. The engine prints the word uttered by the user and its success rate was
found to be around 60%.
Summer Internship at VSSC Trivandrum on “Modeling and servo analysis of an
electromechanical actuation system for launch vehicle application”.
The objective of this project is to undertake the nonlinear analysis of Engine
Description:
Gimbal Control system (EGC). The model parameters and the specifications to be satisfied by the
system are provided.
The system was generated on MATLAB/SIMULINK and a compensator was designed
such that the system specifications were satisfied. Perturbation analysis on the system was carried
out and system was found to be adequately robust.
Achievements:
Ranked AIR 3336 in GATE 2014 with a GATE score of 534.
Participated in the Engineer Infinite 2012, a National Level Engineering Student Project
Competition organized by ELECRAMA-2012 and IEEMA Executive Council.
Selected for the scholarship issued by MHRD, Department of Higher Education, Govt of India,
New Delhi.
Individual championship in sports for the year 2005 in Bhavans Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya,
Sanikpuri.
Took part in cluster VII athletic meet CBSE south zone 2005.
