• Provided individual, group, and computer therapy for the Intensive Aphasia

Program, a four-week long intensive therapy program utilizing thematic language

stimulation following the principles of constraint-induced language therapy.

• Performed bedside and videofluoroscopic swallow evaluations. Counseled

caregivers regarding community resources and diet recommendations.

• Conducted rehabilitation of comprehension and expression for adults with

aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, right-hemisphere damage, and traumatic brain injury.

Cerenity Senior Care – Skilled Nursing Facility, St. Paul, MN Summer 2013

• Evaluated swallow function, completed trials of liquid and food textures, trained

clients in compensatory strategies, designed customized oral-pharyngeal exercise

regimens, and observed vital stimulation treatment.

• Assessed, designed implemented treatment for cognitive-linguistic deficits in:

executive function, memory, following directions, and orientation.

Wilder Early Childhood Special Education, Minneapolis, MN Spring 2013

• Collaborated with the interdisciplinary evaluation team to determine eligibility for

Dr. Zhang’s Brain Plasticity Research Spring 2013-Spring 2014

• Completed a Master’s thesis on brain plasticity and second-language learning in

adulthood. Utilized an electroencephalogram to assess the use of a computer

program to improve perception of Mandarin tones in native English speakers.

Dr. Kohnert’s Bilingual Research Spring 2010-May 2012

• Completed a thesis on bilingual narrative assessment and primary language

impairment in Spanish-English bilingual children. Administered standardized tests

and transcribed and analyzed language samples in English and Spanish.
