Oracle Database Administrator
Command two major projects involving administration, troubleshooting, and
tuning of Oracle databases (e.g. 10g and 11g running on IBM AIX 5.3, SunOS
5.8, and HP-UX B.11.11). Manage, tune, and troubleshoot issues on UNIX
command line, SQL*Plus, OEM client, Oracle 11g database control, Oracle 11g
grid control, and third party tools (e.g. TOAD, SQLDeveloper, DBArtisan,
dbXpert). Team with Systems Analysts, Engineers, Admins, and Application
Developers in needs assessment, requirements gathering, database design,
implementation, user creation, and database access at role and table
levels, as well as final performance assessment and evaluation. Collaborate
with developers for enhanced performance in Applications in writing
packages, triggers, and indexes on tables. Conduct technical documentation
of configurations, installations, implementations, monitoring, and testing
projects for future utilization. Perform SQL and PL/SQL tuning, oracle
contention, and monitoring of production database using automatic workload
repository (AWR), automatic database diagnostic monitor (ADDM), and active
session history (ASH).
Tools: Oracle RMAN, Oracle 10.2.0.1, Oracle 11g, DBMS STATS, Data pump, SQL
TRACE, TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN
Key Accomplishments:
- Created oracle databases on configured servers using DBCA and database
creation scripts.
- Developed database objects, tablespaces, and schemas as needed.
- Conducted schema migrations from development to production via Tech
Test environments.
- Used RMAN Duplicate and HOT/COLD backups to migrate data
from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.3.
- Leveraged secure SCP and FTP extensively for file transfers from machines
to remote server.
- Led data migration between databases using Oracle 10g and 11g
export/import utility and Oracle 11g exp/imp data pump.
- Championed a stand by database by using RMAN Duplicate in order to reduce
the down time for the PROD database during the migration process

Oracle Database Administrator
Installed and configured Oracle 10.2.0.1 database on HP-UX platform.
Created Users, Groups, Roles, and Profiles, assigned users to groups, and
granted necessary privileges to relevant groups. Monitored performance of
databases including viewing Alert log files and Trace files. Used integrity
constraints and database triggers to maintain data integrity and security.
Provided 24X7 support for production and development databases. Cloned and
migrated databases using RMAN and traditional Data
pump export/import utilities in Oracle 10gR2. Performed space management,
capacity planning, disaster recovery, and overall database maintenance.
Scheduled hot and cold physical backups in CRON tab using RMAN utility and
monitoring scheduled jobs.
Tools: Oracle 10.2.0.1, HP-UX 11, Sun Solaris 10.0, RAC, Oracle Streams,
RMAN, Data pump, SQL TRACE, TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN
- Successfully migrated from Oracle 9i/10g to 10gR2 RAC (Real Application)
database.
- Performed data replication using Materialized views and Oracle Streams in
Oracle 10gR2.
- Optimized and tuned SQL queries using SQL TRACE, TKPROF, EXPLAIN
PLAN utilities.
- Applied patches 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4.
- Leveraged Data Guard feature of Oracle 10g R2 to implement logical
and physical standby databases for RAC cluster on Sun Solaris platform.
- Implemented recovery strategies when required, and successfully used RMAN
to recover databases following database crash or media/disk failures.

and database objects, Supported execution of database changes
from development to production via TST following requests and demands from
development team. Managed backups to ensure timeliness and appropriate
scheduling. Teamed in logical and physical design of databases.
Tools: Oracle 10.2.0.1 & 11g,RMAN, Data pump, SQL TRACE, TKPROF, EXPLAIN
PLAN
- Spearheaded diagnosis and troubleshooting of database problems and
failures.
