• Reduced cost of machines by 18.7%, by converting traditional machine layout to cell (group) manufacturing layout by

running a mixed integer programming (MIP) model in AMPL.

• Designed the optimal facility layout to minimize worker movement and also determined the order release to maximize

machine utilization and reduce costs.
