Abilities
The majority of my manual labor skills were picked up while working for Palmetto Construction Group as a general laborer. My duties there mainly consisted of aiding the person in charge of welding. That involved chipping, cleaning, painting welds, preparing metal to be welded, fire watching, and putting measurements on metal with soapstone for reshaping. Other skills obtained there include rigging steel beams, reshaping and preparing metals that came prefabricated based on incorrect calculations, pouring concrete, using a hammer-drill to chip and drill in concrete, cutting pipes to be replaced using a cutting torch, using a chain fall safely to lift and control the fall of heavy objects, patching holes, caulking, cleaning, walking on and hanging beams, hanging poly and laying out cardboard to prevent damage to mostly completed work areas that required minimal additions or corrections, a vast spectrum of demolition work, and finally the use of many regular and powered tools like: grinders, speed square, tri square, impact gun, drill, jackhammer, welding machine, and many others. The majority of the rest of my skills focus around musical activity. I've practiced jazz and classical piano for over 25 years now. I graduated the Charleston School of the Arts in Piano Performance. I am trained in pedagogy of piano. I have studied organ as a secondary performance instrument for 4 years in college. I am conditioned to site ready at almost any level on first attempt. I am familiar with performing classical repertoire from memory for several hours at a time. I have performed many classical based piano recitals as part of my bachelor’s degree in piano performance. I am familiar with accompany other instrumentalists. For a spring show at my previous college I performed the piano concerto Rhapsody in Blue with the college band from memory. I have sat in with jazz bands and combo and feel very comfortable reading lead sheets and soloing within first attempt at play. I also compose music, which i copyright. I have been hired to transcribe complicated performance pieces at times. In regards to piano i can play almost anything provided via sheet music or given for me to listen to. I am very comfortable with music theory being the top student in my basic music theory and then advanced counterpoint classes. I am very comfortable, versatile, and easy to get along with in regards to music. In addition to piano i have been in several Jazz Harmony Groups. One of which was invited to Carnegie Hall while still in High School. I have a decent amount of vocal training and am well trained at solfege. I also close to 10 years of study in classical and contemporary guitar performance. I have also sit in as a drummer, accordionist, bassist, and guitarist with several bands
