Position Description:
Plan and direct all maintenance employees in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation and
control work in the plant as well as train and troubleshoot electrical and automation problems
with the responsibility for the electrical and automation installation of all plant projects.
Principal Activities:
Plan for and direct all major machine/expences, and machine upgrade project installations within
the plant. Train all the electricians involved in plant electrical work to develop their electrical
skills to maintain and troubleshoot Olympic Panel’s equipment in a more effcenet and effctive
way. Troubleshoot all major electrical and automation problems with machine centers and work
to improve machine electrical effectiveness. Direct electrical safety training and support safety
initiatives to assure an accident free environment for the plant.
This position requires a thorough working knowledge in the use, monitoring, maintenance and
repair of electrical/mechanical systems to include machine controls, power distribution,
programmable controls, servo hydraulic systems, steam and air distribution, SCR drives and
mainframe/process control computer interface. Instruct others in troubleshooting and repair of
programmable control computer systems, train and develop electricians within the plant to
understand, maintain and repair all electrical equipment/machinery. Perform other related duties
as assigned.
Decisions, Mental Challenges, or Key Problems Solved:
A major challenge of the position is to direct electrical planning activities of the plant to achieve
the least amount of downtime and production interference, and to improvise and substitute in
emergencies.
The nature of this position requires an in-depth technical knowledge and understanding in
maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, programmable controls, servo
hydraulic systems, steam and pneumatic systems, SCR drives and must possess the skills and
knowledge to instruct subordinates in the troubleshooting and repair of such systems.
