Network Administrator - Electronic Payment Processing Systems (May 2004 -
July 2006)
. Member of a team of three senior engineers that designed and
implemented a new network infrastructure in a new, primary data center.
The infrastructure consisted of routers, global and local load
balancers, multi-layer switches, firewalls, secure content
accelerators, VPN concentrators, and Windows servers. The system met
the rigid demands of Visa CISP guidelines, SAS 70 audits, and followed
the Cisco "SAFE" Blueprint.
. Responsible for either designing or implementing advanced Cisco
configurations that utilized policy-based routing, OSPF, BGP, policy-
based NAT, policy routing, nested ACLs, EtherChannel, TACACS+, HSRP,
SNMP, Netflow, etc. The complexity in the design was required because
of the myriad of business partners, customers, and associations that
the online transaction processing system needed to connect to, as well
as 24x7x365 system availability, and the need for granular network
monitoring and forensic capabilities.
. Helped to administer Checkpoint FW-1 on the Nokia platform, Radware
Certain-T 100 SSL accelerators, and the Cisco Catalyst Network Analysis
Modules.
. Helped manage two Windows 2003 Active Directory domains in a single
forest. One domain was for Internet-based transactions to be processed
on, and the other was for management and user accounts. Cisco
SecureACS and Microsoft's Internet Authentication Service were both
used for single sign on across all network devices and servers using MS
Active Directory as the source AAA database.
. Configured and administered an out-of-band management network which
utilizes VPN technology for network access to all devices.
. Helped administer DS-3 TDM multiplexers, DS-1 MUXes, Hypercom MegaNAC
dial concentrators, and Cisco access servers.
. Helped install and configure Cisco's MDS 9509 Director-series fiber
channel switch for the storage area network.
. Responsible for all network documentation, network diagrams, cable
labels, and patch panel labels.
. Built two full-scale data centers in the past 12 months, migrated our
processing system from one site to another, and migrated all of our
telecommunications and data circuits from disparate digital T-1s and DS-
0s to TDM DS-3s and PRIs.

. Contributed to a network team to migrate Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003
. Responsible for assembling IBM e-series enterprise servers and
installing Windows 2000 / 2003 operating system.
. Supported the network enterprise which consists of two AD forests and
five domains

servers, PC's, routers, switches, VPN Concentrators, and PIX firewalls
across a five building campus LAN.

directory integrated forests, domains, DNS, DHCP scopes, WINS, OU's, e-
mail accounts, access rights, and permissions for the enterprise.
. Solely tasked with the management and support of an 83 site WAN via
IPSEC-VPN / GRE tunneling. The solution allowed for the implementation
of EIGRP dynamic routing across the WAN.
. Designed, configured, and supported wireless LANs including, but not
limited to: Cisco Aironet, Cisco 350 wireless bridge, Linksys wireless
access points, etc.
