Provided third level support for servers and workstations (primarily Frito-Lay) and administration of
remaining legacy OS/2 server environments that had not or could not be migrated to Windows or UNIX.
• Re-engineered the existing CD based OS/2 build processes into an imaged based solution that
could be installed in a virtual environment. This provided time for the business to migrate off of its
OS/2 based product pipeline management system to an SAP based solution. The life of this solution
was targeted for 2008, but due to timeline slippages the solution will still operate until 2013.
• Developed and implemented several WEB based tools which moved the entry-points of processes
to a browser but left the background processing intact reducing the instances of legacy clients.
• Developed, implemented and maintained a distribution mechanism to allow central management of
a TRUSERS file so that support personnel could access legacy Virtual systems via standard IP
applications using their own logon credentials, meeting SOX compliance standards.
• Enabled the server and workstation build `process to dynamically recognize the type and model of
hardware they were using and to dynamically configure for it. This simplified the pre-installation
process and reduced the number of hardware specific configurations being maintained.
• Shortened the install duration of corporate servers and workstations by 24 hours through
automation of the build process. Multiple steps requiring human interaction were linked and
automated to create a single start-to-finish, unattended, process.
