Project Title : Estimation of effect of CBR flows on TCP flows at a

router.

Tools : matlab7.0,ns2 simulator

Responsibility : All aspects of the project.

Description : The project work entitles " Estimation of effect of CBR

flows at a router "here we propose a scheme for estimating the

proportion of the incoming traffic that is not responding to

congestion at a router. The proposed scheme utilizes queue

length history, packet drop history, expected TCP and queue

dynamics to estimate the proportion. This estimation is done

through Matlab software which is used for writing programming

language (similar to C) and is one of the easiest programming

languages for writing mathematical programs. we show that the

proposed scheme is effective over a wide range of traffic

scenarios through ns-2 based simulations.

Mini Project ( MCA )

Project Title : Simulation of characters, bits stuffing and destuffing

Tools : Java

Responsibility : All aspects of the project.

Description : 1. To divide the stream of characters, bits into frames by

using character, bits stuffing.

2. To receive the transmitted stuffed characters, bits

through the data link layer and destuff it. When data is transmitted, the

transmitter should distinguish between the start and the end of the data.

This is done to ensure that the receiving node reads the data completely.

This is accomplished by appending a unique pattern of bit stream .And it

deals with the way of attempting to ensure that the transmission starts and

ends at the correct places. Error detection and correction techniques are

used to check the frame for corruption after its delivery and, if

necessary, the frame will be resent transmitted Packet.
