Overview :

After the completion of Core Re-Architecture project, I join VHA for the

rollout of NetScout solution and for the VoLTE project.

Accomplishments :

My colleque and I worked on building the new model network for VoLTE

project, using Juniper MX960, MX480, QFX5100 and EX4300 switches. VoLTE

stands for Voice over LTE, prior to this project, voice telephone within 4G

network relies on either 3G or 2G fallback design hence the slight delay in

call connection. With VoLTE, both, data and voice calls are possible with

the 4G network. Post model build, we help with Ericsson VoLTE network

integration.

- With all projects, we work closely with vendors to produce design

documentation and provide end-to-end network solution and support.

Overview :

I started with Vodafone Networks in June 1999 as a Senior Network Engineer.

My team and I provided network support and in-house project services to

both, Enterprise and Core IP Network. In 2006, the Vodafone Engineering

team were outsourced to Nokia Network then onto Network Siemens Networks.

Since then, I have been working on project related tasks, mostly on Core

integration (during the merger of Vodafone and Hutchison network), Core

expansion and Core re-Architecture project.

Accomplishments :

- With VHA Core Re-Architecture project, the introduction of new P Core

router within VHA network, my colleque and I performed model and concept

testing prior to router and network commissioning and integration.

- Designed the network for merger between Vodafone Australia and Hutchison

Australia, part of VHA Core Consolidation project. Created interAS vpn to

stitch the 2 networks. Documented and facilitated training to the

Operations and Engineering team the new network. Our team also commission

and integrate the new PE routers for VHA packet core network.

- Assist VHA in all Tier 3 issues and cases. Supported Network Operations

team in identifying and implementing improvements to the performance of key

processes

- Implemented and migrated VHA second core network on Juniper platform

- Worked as a team in designing and building MPLS network based on Cisco

7600 (PE) and Juniper M320 (P) for Vodafone Australia's 3G network, in area

of L3 VPN, remote access for support (inclusive of OBM) and Traffic

Engineering. I have also upgraded Vodafone Australia's Core network, from

single to redundant core.

- Design and manage IPSEC VPNs on Cisco router (with VAM) and VPN

Concentrators in order to facilitate customer and business partner's access

to SMSC gateway and to transfer Call Data Records. Assisted sales team and

customers with all technical issues pertaining to VPN setup and firewall

access.

- Install, troubleshoot and support local and global interconnected

networks using X.25/EIGRP/BGP/OSPF over Frame Relay, ISDN, E1 and IPSEC

VPN.

- Continuous review and analyse of network for improvement before

redesigning/re-engineering and implementing cost effective, efficient and

future proof network.

- Utilise network management software to detect problems with HPOV,MRTG,

Concord and CiscoWorks.

- Constant upgrade of IOS and Catalyst OS images on all platform. Maintain

detailed network documentation and diagrams on all projects

- Design and manage/maintain Out-of-Band solution using cyclades terminal

server along with Cisco's solution for Vodafone and its business partners

(IBM, HP and Nokia).

- Provide second and third tier technical support for the Operations team

Overview :

Magna Data started as an ISP for small-to-large business. I started my role

with with Magna Data as a Pre-sales Engineer and gradually move onto a

Network Engineer.

Accomplishments :

- Duties included service creation and troubleshooting of dedicated ISDN,

PSTN, DDS Fastway, Frame Relay and HDSL services, DNS configuration and

installation, and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches and the Cisco PIX

firewall. Configure Radius and TACACS+ for remote/dial-up access.

- Assisting the Sales Team as a pre-sales resource in dealings with clients

on technical issue related to delivery of Internetworking products and

services.

- Analyse existing LAN and make recommendation for architecture changes.

Create and manage equipment redeployment plans.

Ericsson Academy Malaysia Sdn Bhd

Overview :

Ericsson Academy Malaysia is part of Ericsson Global companies, providing

telecommunication related technical training and services. I was engaged to

conduct Ericsson OSS (TMOS) courses.

Accomplishments :

- Conduct Ericsson courses in Malaysia and International mainly on

Telecommunication Management Operation Support (TMOS) topics, such as

Telecom Command Line and Command File Handling, Remote File Handling and

Upgrading, Performance Measurement on PSTN and Mobile Network, and

Alarm/Fault Management of Telecom Exchange .

- Since TMOS utilizes heavily on UNIX and Sybase, I also administer the SUN

system. Apart from that, I assisted the Information Technology Department

in setting and configuring our computer network system, based on Windows

NT.
