Ladies and Gentlemen:

This letter is to apply for a senior engineer position advertised on Exelon’s website. My experience

encompasses 40 years, working at Gilbert Commonwealth (Worley Parsons), Raytheon Engineers and

Constructors (URS), GE, and STV and firms requiring medium and high voltage engineering for

transmission line and substations. My resume is included for your review.

I have used SKM and ETAP computer programs for, load flow, short circuit studies, large transformer

impedance and KVA specifications, large motor starting studies, power factor studies.

I have applied ANSI/ IEEE C2, 605, C57 transformer series, C37 series to specify ratings, voltage levels,

vertical and horizontal clearances, BIL levels, for circuit breakers, switches, circuit switchers, power

transformer, station bus, capacitors, reactors, insulators, circuit breakers, protective relaying, meter, and

control panels, for procurement, manufacture and construction.

My assignments and responsibilities included: studies, root cause analysis, and substations design from

reliable 125 volt station batteries, chargers and distribution, UPS systems, backup engine generators, gas

turbine starting generators/motors, 13.8 kV (distribution) - 69 kV-138 kV-230 kV, 345 kV (transmission)

switchgear, grounding, lighting, direct stroke lightning protection, and back up engine generators for

black start. My design included referencing the NEC, NESC, and IEEE, and NERC standards and

applying the information on drawings and procurement specifications for dead tank SF 6 circuit breakers,

GIS switchgear, cables, equipment ratings, BIL, from 69 kV to 345 kV.

My experience includes planning, studies, preliminary design, cost estimating, preparing specifications,

drawings lists, task assignments, drawings, sourcing, procurement, equipment evaluation, conformances

specifications, shop drawing review, final design, construction cost estimates, resolving vendor and

internal engineering/design/construction issues, responding to requests for information, issuing drawings

for bidding and construction, prepare review amendments/changes. Specify commissioning tests.
