Management Experience; I have extensive management experience which

included running The Army National Guard Data Center for 5 months from

May to September of 1992 while My boss the DPI chief was away on special

assignment with the National Guard Bureau. This included managing the

Oracle Dbas and Unix Sa and technicians.

During my tenure here I performed several applications level tuning

exercises on application database schemas that refreshed their statistics,

also tuned their db_cache_size to take advantage of sga memory and rebuilt

some old indices. I also was involved in some Intel server hostnames

changes that require Oracle OEM to be rebuilt and updated with new node

info. That went successfully as well as did my tuning exercises. Apart from

that I acted as a consulting resource where they had general Oracle

questions related to errors they were getting or the behavior of the

replication option which they used on site. I learned allot and helped them

out too. Additional changes (i.e. hints)were recommended after I ran some

target sql through OEM Grid Control SQL Tuning advisor, I submitted these

changes to the to the team for implementation.

Worked at a vendor location on a project that consisted of moving

sqlserver and Oracle databases from one server environment to another.

The technical steps associated with this task include log shipping backup

and recover techniques(Oracle and sqlserver specific) and an

understanding of enterprise architecture. An understanding of DataGuard,

Legato and vmware was also part of my skills required in doing this job.

During my tenure there I set up an RMAN corporate environment, that was

cross redundant. I also move several sqlserver databases using backup and

restore.

. learned to configure and administered Peoplesoft version 8.43 in a

production environment running over a 10.4 Oracle Database(3/4 of a

terabyte is size, stored in ASM)) in UNIX and Intel server

environments. Within that process I learned the internal components

and how they integrated with Peoplesoft. Components like, the

database metadata, Tuxedo messenger, integration broker and crystal

rmandup to create a standby database for a failover point on a

production database I supported. Along with those rman duties I

also have a experience implementing and maintaining an rman catalog

and of course backing up and recovering in RMAN.

which we used to perform cold and hot database backups to our

Oracle production, test and QA databases at The Hartford.

. During my last year of tenor at The Hartford I started to work

significantly with EBS, brought in by The Hartford as a new solution.

Within EBS I was exposed to Oracle Financials including Oracle

Assets, Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Payable, Oracle Receivables,

Bill of Materials, Oracle, capacity, Oracle CRM, Oracle inventory and

others within EBS.

. Also significant experience working with PL/SQL, Java, .NET, HTML and

XML), the technology stack of (Oracle Forms server Oracle Reports

Server, Apache Web Server (15 + years experience depending on the

component)), Oracle Discoverer, Jinitiator and Sun's Java).All tying

to EBS technologies. My team of developers/DBA's, of which I was a

part, utilized/developed in .these technologies heavily.

. Oracle application server software installation test. Included

iterations of web enabling several core applications in a web farm

test environment. Utilized the J-developer kit as well as several

other Oracle client plug-ins.

. Installed and configured an Oracle 11 database to prototype our

Transaction Log Assistant application. Also supported a Telephony

Architecture Replacement app11rg2 RAC cluster database and an the

Transaction Log Assistant 11gr2 veritas clustered database in

production.

. Supported an 11Gr2 database that 15 customer nitch apps under it with

a user base of 150 users.The front end apps were written in .net and

used IIS mid tier web app software to connect to the database.

. Installed and configured an Oracle 10G database to prototype our

Transaction Log assistant application. Testing is in progress, toward

the conversion and consolidation of this app to one server from 5

separate servers on top of a UNIX operating system.

. Accountable for core database support for the TLA(Transaction Log

Assistant) and capapp (Central Answering Point) applications.

Including completion of an Oracle version (9.2.0.6) upgrade and move

of capapp to new, faster server technology. On tap is the

consolidation of TLA into a UNIX server environment moving away from

the current architecture of multiple copies of the same database

residing on local Intel servers.

. Participate in the movement and upgrade of the dasp/cems/persins to

more efficient Sun Solaris hardware technology, while upgrading our

databases to 9.2.0.1 Oracle. Deployed and installed new features like

automatic undo space management, replacing the old rollback segment

management techniques. Went to standby database technology, for fail

over, which replaces Solaris clustering technologies. Worked with new

features like "hot Tuning" to performance tune the database and retain

high availability.

. Installed and configured the Oracle 10g web server software on

Solaris. Configured Enterprise manager to work as part of the

installation. Worked on the deployment of the CSF (Customer Service

File) application from betrieve to Oracle. Assisted the primary DBA

with all tasks (data conversion, DB setup, application DBA tasks)

required as part of the support that related to the deployment.

. Completed move and reconfiguration of test environment to an upgraded

test box, while simultaneously upgrading existing test databases from

8.1.5/ 9.2.01 to 9.2.0.3. Completed re-stratification of space

utilization to formalize a test environment for cems and persins. This

work enabled more efficient deployment for future architecture

enhancing flexibility.

. Project Leader, responsible for various enterprise level migration

activities including movement and upgrade from Oracle 8.1.5 to Oracle

9i on a 64 bit Os level Sun Platform. Subject matter expert of undo

space management, dynamic SGA tuning, and Standby database technology

To support potential failover.

. Completed project porting an entire production and test environment

(over 135GIG) from a DEC VAX server running OPENVMS 6.2 on Oracle 7.1

to a Sun Ultra 4000 server running UNIX 5.5.1 (Solaris UNIX) and

Oracle 7.3. Migrated the environment to Oracle 8.1.5.

. Participated in resource acquisition for various projects including

successful migration of Oracle reports and forms from version 1.61 to

developer 6.0, and migration on Windows NT server platforms.

. Manager an Oracle database that was dedicated to an inquira

application on the backend used to do CRM activities in the call

centers. I maintained tables indexes views and procedure code

dedicated to run the application. I was also involved in the initial

load and configuration of those objects.
