Experience
. Managed and completed the structural designs for all large diameter
prestressed concrete pipe, specials and steel pipe fittings for the Great
Man Made River Project in Libya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Man-
Made_River_Project); currently the world's largest water supply scheme
with more than 3000km of 4m diameter infrastructure supplying water to
the major cities including Tripoli, Benghazi and Sirte (>$10B US).
. Provided strong technical representation during several major failure
investigations and successfully demonstrated strict adherence to design
codes and project specifications which ultimately proved instrumental in
avoiding a major litigation.
. represented a major international contractor during site investigations
assessing flood damage and provided technical support which ultimately
resulted in receiving significant compensation from the Insurers.
. Recently validated condition assessment monitoring data at a number of
site excavations which convincingly encouraged the client to consider a
major expansion.
. Secured first UK orders to supply large diameter PCCP from the US for two
major long sea outfalls (in competition with local suppliers) through
strong marketing and technical representation.
. Assisted in developing an innovative technique for fully automated
offshore installation of prestressed concrete pipe for long sea outfalls
virtually eliminating the need for divers.
. Successfully developed and implemented onsite repairs resulting in
significant cost savings.
. Developed design validation procedures approved by the third party
engineers enabling reclassification of otherwise reject product resulting
in major cost savings.
. Training and presenting seminars on soil pipe interaction, structural
design of large diameter pipes and fitting, fabrication, manufacturing
and installation.
