ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
Mechanical Senior Design Mechanical/Electrical Lead Aug 2014-Dec 2014
Mechanical Senior Design Class - lead mechanical and electrical designer for final group design project of an electric
scooter. Duties included mechanical frame design, material/component selection, FEA analysis of critical components,
electrical power management, motor control, and battery charging.
Autonomous Surface Vehicle “RoboBoat” Competition Mechanical Lead Aug 2012-July 2013
Lead mechanical engineer for RoboBoat Competition. Duties included boat design and construction, and oversight,
mentoring, and training of engineering student team. First place award.
University Scholars Program – Robotic Albert the Alligator Designer Fall 2012-Spring 2013
Improved existing design work to create a robotic Albert (UF school mascot). Expanded on earlier designs,
identified areas for improvement, created design that could be manufactured using current UF resources.
ION Robotic Lawnmower Competition Mechanical Lead Fall 2011-June 2012
Led lower division team to refine and redesign aspects of the original InstiGator robotic lawnmower and
redesigned new sensor mounts.
IEEE SE Conference Hardware Competition Co-Team Lead; Mechanical Lead April 2011-May, 2012
We created a sensor-deploying robot capable of driving around a track that contained several types of obstacles. I utilized
my analytical and creative faculties to design and build a custom platform for our robot, in addition to providing oversight
and mentoring to 30 undergraduate students.
IEEE SE Conference Hardware Competition Treasurer; Mechanical Co-Lead April 2010-March 2011
We designed a “rescue” robot capable of identifying and saving “victims.” This was my first opportunity to assume a
mechanical engineering leadership role in designing and fabricating the mechanical aspects of the robot. Our team placed
ninth out of 40 teams.
Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Systems Int’l Competition Team Member August 2009-July 2010
I was the first UF freshman team member to participate in the design and presentation at the AUVS Int’l competition. I
designed a quick-release mount for imaging sonar equipment, and gained a thorough understanding of Blender software
through design of simulation model submarine.
ENGINEERING SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
SolidWorks (6 years) – LabVIEW (2 years) – MATLAB (2 years) – Blender (2 years)
Altium Board Design (6 months) – Arduino (1 year) – C programming (1 years)
WORK EXPERIENCE
PicSolve – Legoland Florida May 2014-August 2014
Took photos of guests at park entrance, restocked park merchandise, and sold photos/merchandise to guests.
Work Study – Fall/Spring 2012-2013
University of Florida
Improved existing design work to create a robotic Albert (UF school mascot). Expanded on earlier designs,
identified areas for improvement, created design that could be manufactured using current UF resources.
SHANDS Children’s Medical Services/Pediatrics May-Aug 2011; Aug 2013-Dec 2014
Developed interpersonal communication skills while managing family experiences and expectations; able to multi-task while
setting weekly appointments, managing files, supporting medical staff.
