Shiley Eye Institute, University of California, San Diego
Project: Trend Analysis on Glaucoma
Build trend analysis models for patient in Gaucoma and control groups, comparing the developing slopes and
trend between the two groups : Time series analysis, robust regression PCA, logistic models, cox proportional
hazard modeling, power analysis, meta analysis, survival analysis, mixed models, nested anova are applied.
SAS, R, SQL and Matlab are used.
5/2014-9/2014 Statistical Analyst, Ness USA (Ebay Inc. Analytics & Insights, Contractor)
Project: Sales and Price Prediction Modeling Using Time Series data
Build predictive models: using time series analysis and signal processing method to build predictive models based
on predictors like customer behavior, promotion strategy, holiday effect, shopping season effect, etc.
Provide forecasting for future sales’ volume and price.
Analyze customers’ shopping behavior.
Support Financial and marketing strategy, looking for the best timing and product segments for promotion.
SAS & Matlab, are used. Time Series, Signal Processing, machine learning, stepwise regression, principle
component analysis, lasso regression are applied.
Project: Identifying Top Customers response to promotion email
Identify Top 20% of customers who response to our promotion emails.
Random forest in R was applied
Project: Conversion rate Comparison between webpages
Test conversion rate between Bundled item webpage vs single item webpage, A/B test was applied
Statistical Analyst, S, University of California, San Diego
5/2013 – 5/2014
Project: Female Juvenile Delinquents’ Higher Psychological Symptoms
Find out Psychological Predictors for Juvenile’s arrest rate. Verify the effect of them with General Mixed model.
Cluster the juvenile delinquents into different groups based on their psychological symptoms.
Find the effect of the Seeking Security Program developed in the project on those participating girls. Identify the
problems of the program and verify the importance of it.
SPSS and SAS are used. Factor analysis, Repeated Measure Anova, Data Mining, and Regression Tree are applied
Statistical Research Assistant, San Diego State University Research Foundation
2/2010 -6/2013
Project: Survival Analysis in Heart Rate Dropping and QRS Prolongation
Using heart rate and QRS changes to predict patients’ survival time.
Identify the factors that affect heart rate and QRS.
Find out that if medications can really help during the last 24 hours of patients.
Identify the best treat time for doctors when they observe patients’ heart rate and QRS change
SPSS and R are used. Kaplan–Meier curve, Survival Analysis, Repeated Measure, Anova, and GLM are applied in
this project.
Project: Factors Associated with Labor Trafficking Issues In San Diego County
Identify the factors affecting labor trafficking issues among the illegal immigrants in San Diego County. Predictive
models are set up for predicting the chance of being trafficked by employers.
Regression Tree, Bagging, Bootstrap methods are implied in the analysis.
R, SAS, and SPSS are used.
Project: California DUI Project
Key statistical analyst in California State DUI Educational Programs for Wet Reckless Driving.
Collect data of different education programs for wet reckless drivers in California.
Provide statistical analysis of statewide data including fees, enrollment, cost for program providers, evidence of the
result of the program, etc.
Responsible for evaluating the programs, comparing the results between different program providers, predicting the
trend of program development and providing customized reports.
Descriptive Analysis, Multivariate Regression, Predictive modeling, and Data Mining etc. are applied.
Project: Environmental and Heritable Influences on Aggressiveness in Drosophila
Search for genes whose expression levels correlate with the influence of social experience on aggressiveness in
Drosophila by performing microarray analysis of head tissue from socially isolated vs. socially experienced male
flies.
R is used in this project.
