• Designed new Extract Transform Load (ETL) system integrating data from offsite hosted loan

originating and processing systems. Built a code generator that produces thousands of lines of SQL to

populate a relational Operational Data Store (ODS) and a Dimensional Data Warehouse.

• Developed hardware and software specifications to meet system performance requirements and

Service Level Agreements (SLA). Performance tune complex SQL queries to meet rigid bank

processing deadlines.

• Using highly responsive high speed SQL Server technologies such as columnstore indexes, in-

memory tabular data models, and SQL analytical query extensions.

Senior Database Architect Sonoma Technology, Inc., Petaluma, CA 2000 – 2013

• Created the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) AIRNow Oracle/SQL Server databases.

The system processes and forecasts air quality information for the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

• Created and project managed SQL Server and PostgreSQL air quality, meteorological, and fire

weather database systems for multiple US state agencies, Mexico, and Shanghai, China.

• Created a large scale Oracle Data Warehouse for quality control and data analysis of air quality

and meteorological data.

• Project managed the EPA Data Exchange Network Node at STI which processes complex state

agency XML data into AIRNow.

• Trained STI staff in database management and SQL programming.
