Application Tool Support Specialist
. Provide high-level support for the software developers using
the Microsoft developer products - Visual Basic 6, Visual
Studio .NET and Microsoft Access in client and Terminal Server
environments
This support includes code debugging, connectivity problems,
file conflict and registry analysis, and best practices.
Liaison to Microsoft premier support for our developers.
. To meet the needs of Chubb's Visual Basic .NET programmers, I
researched and published several documents for Chubb
developers
"ODBC .NET Managed Provider - An alternative to using a
native provider for DB2"
This paper provided a preferred alternative method to using
unmanaged classic ADO
"Problems when using certain ActiveX controls in a Visual
Studio .NET application"
. Developed an automatic (via Tivoli) process for the un-
installation MS Project98, Access97 and Visio without
disturbing the rest of the Microsoft Office suite.
It was assumed by management that this could not be done.
Since I was able to make it automatic, it saved hundreds of
man-hours of Field Technology Service labor time since there
were several thousand workstations affected.
The cost saving of having successfully made this procedure
automatic was tens of thousands of dollars.
. Worked with Microsoft in developing a strategy for the upgrade
of Access 97 to Access 2002 and assisted our developers in the
conversion process
Database Computer Programmer
( Enhancement of Chubb's Environmental Liability Information
System Database. This database system uses Microsoft Access as
its front-end graphical user interface and DB2 for its
database storage.
I was able to greatly improve the response time by
incorporating ODBC pass-through queries, creating Access
tables to temporarily hold only those records that were being
manipulated, and then updating the DB2 tables when that
manipulation is complete which is triggered when the user
closes the form.
( Provide the customer with periodic reports of conflicts
between Chubb's central database and the Environmental
Liability Database.
. Developed a Time Tracker Application using MS Access
User entry of weekly time spent on particular projects
Calculates statistical information for a user defined date
range

1989 - 1991 Low Voltage Power Supply Engineer
( Executed the following functions for a redundant
forward converter used on the Mars Observer spacecraft:
Generated Worst Case Analysis for Critical Design
Review including: -10V Post Regulator, Inrush Current
Limiter, Over-Current Shut Down Circuitry
Generated Failure Mode and Stress Analysis

voltage for both the European and American market.
It also meets VDE class B and MIL-461-D EMI
specifications.
Some of the functions I performed include:
Ripple simulation on the input capacitors using SPICE
