Profile
I've worked in the electrical field since 1967 doing all types of
electrical work from residential, commercial, industrial, and motor
control. I owned my own business for over 25 years where I worked on
government projects such as schools, fire and police stations, and pump
stations. Our projects ranged from $100,000.00 to $4,000,000.00. I had 80
to 140 employees. My company was also certified by the state to run our
own apprenticeship school.
Professional Experience
KAPLAN, Charlestown, MA 2005 - 2013
Instructor & Program Director for the Electrical and HVAC Programs
Duties include creating lesson plans and ordering materials and supplies
necessary for instructional purposes. Also hiring any sub-contractors when
needed and creating all specifications and drawing for sub-contractors to
base their bid on. Also, I worked directly with the students, getting
students jobs upon graduation, finding electrical contractors to place
students in co-op programs, and working to keep students in the program
that may be having problems staying in school. These students are taught
the electrical & the HVAC trade, which includes estimating and project
management besides the wiring and controls.. I also call on the non-profit
businesses, such as Habitat for Humanity, Boston Chapter and got our
students involved in wiring their projects. The Habitats contact person is
George O'Malley at 617-***-****. I am certified by the state to teach all
aspects of the electrical business from the introduction to the industrial,
motor control and HVAC controls and commercial and residential wiring.
Kaplans people called and asked if I would be interested in starting the
electrical program. At the time, I only had one other instructor and we
built the program from 12 students during the day to over 400. We built all
the labs, including the stick house and motor control center to the service
distribution area. After having such success, I was put in charge of the
HVAC program. I was in charge of 18 instructors.
The school closed their doors of all the schools in Massachusetts in 2013.I

own doing small residential and commercial projects.
