Internship at the Chico Creek Nature Center August 2013-December

2013

• Tended care to many species of animal.

• Each day, I held am informational class for adults and children, regarding the species at the site.

• Once a week, I taught a class for kids on a topic of choice. I also had to prepare a lesson plan accompanying

an activity.

• The rest of my time was spent as the docent of the museum held at the location, answering questions and

collecting donations.

Science Internship Instructing Elementary Students at CSU, Chico January 2013- May 2013

Hands-on Science Laboratory

• I would learn and teach a new lab every week. I was given a minimal lesson plan and had to pull my own

information to extend the plan as well as make it interesting for children. Most labs accompany an experiment

to complete, while others had models that I would explain.

• This lab tested my knowledge and ability to explain facts in easy to understand terms.

• I had to be organized and prepared in order to fit all the information into one short lab and to make sure each

lab took up the same amount of time.
