Study and Implementation of Haptic Techniques and Implementation of Advanced Control Strategies on Haptic Device.

Description

This research explores the development of vibration-based haptic feedback for a inertial load of a QUBE-Servo motor. The project involves study of Haptic technology and the implementation of Computer Haptics using MATLAB/Simulink

Haptics is the science of using the sense of feel to aid control and calibration of robotic control and feedback. One of the main applications of Haptic is in simulation and training of complex procedures. The project focuses on the development of a module(Haptic system) capable of providing haptic feedback in terms of motor vibrations. The module developed is a basic conceptual part of a whole system being developed to integrate different aspects of the simulation mechanism including surgical setup, control software, visual simulation software etc. In this work a haptic interface for MATLAB/Simulink has been developed. The virtual reality scene is built up for real time 3D visualization using VRML in the MATLAB. Lastly it covers the implementation of control strategies like PV, PID, LQR &SMC for the position control of the motor(Haptic device).
