Objective
To use my acquired compounding skills, ability to communicate, experience as a lead technician,
and years of hospital and long term care experience to advance my career as a pharmacy
technician.
Work Experience
Lead Pharmacy Technician
Pharmerica Pharmacy - Westlake, OH
November 2011 to January 2015
Responsibilities
As a lead pharmacy technician, my responsibilities covered a wide range. As the lead IV
technician, my responsibilities included taking daily inventory of IV drugs and supplies, ordering
an appropriate amount to replenish our stock, and ensuring the pharmacy was able to meet all the
specific IV demands for all of our facilities and residents. I was responsible for daily maintenance
and cleaning of the IV room as well as training fellow technicians. Training included proper hand
washing technique, sterile compounding, and all around knowledge. In addition to preparing IV's,
TPN bags, and supplies, i also helped to create an efficient system for handling high volume.
In addition to properly billing and filling PO, IV, oral compounds, and external compound
prescriptions, my duties included preparing assignments for technicians and directing them in their
responsibilities. I assisted in making the schedule as well. Other duties included training new
employees and enhancing their growth in the pharmacy. Also ensuring that a high volume of
medications and supplies are shipped in an accurate and timely fashion to our residents.
Accomplishments
I have always been a team player and a leader. I saw fit to lead a large group of strangers and
help mold them into a strong team. During a time when my pharmacy purchased another and
merged, i took on a leadership role and shared all my previous knowledge based on my
education, work experience and time with the company. I believe i made work a happier place and
i think i made a positive difference in my coworkers. I helped our personalities and skills mesh
while strengthening the relationship between the pharmacy and the people we serviced.
I helped bring our IV room, regulations and rules up to expectations at a time when it was lacking.
Skills Used
I demonstrated my leadership and job skills throughout my tenure. I did lots of teaching and
nurturing to my coworkers. I demonstrated my knowledge of different pharmacy software and
hardware. I performed countless IV preparations and used management skills to perform my job
well beyond what my job description stated.
