Testing of all fuel produced in accordance with ASTM D6751 and BQ-9000 fuel standards

requirements.

Developed sampling regiments and testing methods to accurately and efficiently determine fuel

contaminants and subsequent process parameter changes.

Creation of laboratory and plant work floor SOP's and document control.

Operations of all aspects of biodiesel plant process. Oil dehydration, Acid Esterification and

Transesterifcation reaction systems, cavitation reactors, clarifying and decanting centrifuges,

Pacific plate and frame filter press.

Responsible for regular laboratory reagents and consumables purchasing from vendors such as

Sigma Aldrich, Agilent, and VWR.

Operation and maintenance of HP gas chromatography systems. Familiar with FTIR, MidIR and

NIR. Created automated Excel spreadsheets for calibration and validation of results.

Developed and implemented new processes for plant operations that saved in excess of

$400,000 per year by recovering feedstock and value added products from waste streams.

Sought out green/renewable alternatives to complement or replace existing chemical

manufacturing processes: Discovered a cheaper and greener media to replace existing

hazardous filtration media.

Volunteer Efforts

Jamaica Biodiesel Project- Funded by Engineers Without Borders, Puget Sound Professionals

chapter and Boeing. Developed a turnkey biodiesel production system for use by recycling center

staff and first responders in Negril and Montego Bay, Jamaica. Feedstock included used cooking oil

collected from restaurants and resorts. Biodiesel production facilitated with help from University of

Technology (UTEC), Kingston. April 2010 – Present.

Trained ASU students in biodiesel production and theory via workshops and PowerPoint

presentations, Tempe, AZ January 2008 – June 2008.
